Hi guys!!! Today I decided to do a type of post I haven’t done for quite a while. Being a bookworm we all know that sometimes we read an amazing book, so amazing that you’ll end up not wanting to read other books. Because of that today’s post is A Bookworm’s Guide to a Book Hangover. This is mainly how I react when I read a great book and I’m pretty sure that a lot of you might agree with some of these things.
Sometimes you read the most amazing book you have read in quite sometime
You feel like you belong to that book with that amazing characters
But then the book ends you end up like
You can stop thinking about how amazing the book and the characters are
You try to read a new book but you still can’t stop thinking about that other book
You try yet another book but still nothing
This is the point you feel like crying because for you no other book will be as amazing as this one
You try to talk with someone else about the book so you can feel better
After talking about it you end up searching for some fan art and fan fiction so you don’t miss the characters as much as you already do
You finally decide to re-read a book you know you’ll love
The book is so amazing that it takes you out from your book hangover
This is until you read another book that makes you feel this way. When this happens repeat all the previous steps
So this is my Bookworm’s Guide to a Book Hangover. What about you?? Do you do any of these things? What other things do you normally do during a book hangover??
This is me after reading all the bright places!!

did Winter and Carry On bring this on? 😛

Maybeeee…. Maybe not 😀 (it was mostly Winter but Carry On helped XD )

If you knew all the fan art I saw last week… It was a lot. A lot more than what I showed you XD

yeah, I gathered that… still, totally justified 🙂 (I went looking for some cresswell moments on fanfic)

I’m trying not to think about Cresswell. They took control of my life last week 😛

ohhhh, yeah… ok 😛 (i found one one-shot though, so cute, where Thorne couldn’t sleep alone because he still had nightmares for what he had done to her… really cute :P)

Where is that one??? I need to see it XD

what, I thought you didn’t want to…

I didn’t want to but then you used Thorne and cute in the same sentence. That’s a trigger for me XD

You totally nailed it! Plus great advice. I do all of them!! It is heartbreaking to have a favorite series that you are so into (or a standalone) end!
Thank you for sharing, Happy Reading!

Thanks!!! I’m happy that you liked it 😀
Finish a series that you’re into is the worst and it’s the reason why I wrote this. I finished The Lunar Chronicles last week and I’m still on my road to recovery 🙂

I feel ya! I haven’t yet read Winter for that specific reason! Although, I am dying to read it!

It’s so good but it’s sad because it’s the last book and I need more

At least there is still Stars Above. I hope Ms. Meyer comes out with another series pronto!

Luckily we’ll have that. I need to read the Epilogue. She’s releasing Heartless in the end of 2016 but I’m not sure if it’s a series or a stand-alone

This was literally me a while back, I can’t even remember the name of the book I read now (oops how good was it then!? lol jokes, it was brilliant) and I literally couldn’t stop thinking about it for AGES!! Loving the PLL, Aria meme in there 🙂

Sometimes I can’t remember either 😛
I used to love PLL and watch it every single week so I had to use something from the show sometime. And with Aria being my favorite liar I had to use this gif XD

I totally feel you on these, haha! When I’m in a book hangover, I just replay my favorite scenes over and over in my head for a while, but so as to not stay in the hangover for a long period of time, I try to start a new book almost immediately. I know that I can linger in a book hangover for a long time, but I don’t want that to affect my reading, so I just do my best to move on. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t.

This is sooo accurate! I definitely felt this way after reading Tillie Cole’s books! It was a struggle!

Yeah, Len really stood out to me, but I liked more than just those 🙂 I generally tend to approve all gifs hahaha even the ones I don’t know.

Me too. If it fits where I want them I don’t care if I don’t know them 🙂

This is so accurate, it hurts. I’m currently in the “You try to read a new book but you still can’t stop thinking about that other book” stage. The Raven Boys was entirely too good to me that I almost regret reading considering everything else looks so dull to me now.

I already went through the fan art phase but I’m still at that phase where I can read anything but I keep thinking about Winter 😀

Maybe I’ll cautiously throw myself into the fan art phase because it will be a while until I get the second book in the series. Coincidentally, this book hangover is cutting into me reading Scarlet ;-;

Fan art is an amzing way to gt over a book hangover 😛
Scarlet it’s a great book. It’s not the best one because for me each book released is better than the preious one but it’s pretty good

Experiencing this currently after finishing unbecoming by Jenny Downham. So hard to start anything else 😕

Haha! This post spoke quite true to the process of me going through a book hangover, except with more moping around and missing everything within the book that got me hungover!
Loved this, and I loved all the GIFs! They were on point. 😊

THIS WAS ME just a few days ago after reading this book called All the Light We Cannot See. I just wanted to do nothing but think about the characters and talk about the characters and tell everyone to read the book. Thank goodness there are books like Harry Potter that I can reread and rely on 🙂

You understand me so well! i was just looking for more books to read and obsess over because I just finished a book at the library this morning and was already looking for the sequel and I have this impulsive feeling to go buy the next book. Although I just bought two this past weekend….so I’ll see (although there’s a 90% chance I’ll buy it). Your post was awesome and I can’t wait to see any others that you have posted.
