Today is thursday which means that is Book Traveling Thursdays, a weekly meme created by me and Danielle @ Danielle’s Book Blog. This weekly meme consists in picking a book related to the weekly theme that is announced in the group Goodreads page (if you want to join click here) at the beginning of each month. After that you can write a blog post where you explain why you choose that book and choose different covers from different countries. To make it a little bit easy you are going to choose different editions of the original cover, the cover from your country, your favorite cover, and your least favorite cover. This weeks theme is Because we’re never to old to believe in Fairytales choose your favorite re-telling!! For this week I decided to choose a book from one of my favorite series and by now you might have guessed that is a book from The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer. The book is Cress because so far is my favorite book from the series. Let’s go see some covers.
Original Cover:
I love this cover as much as I love all the original covers from The Lunar Chronicles. This cover is gorgeous and I love the colors used and how Cress is in the cover.
Cover from my Country (Portugal):
I really like the portuguese cover. It’s pretty different from the original one but I like that it still features Cress and the colors used.
Favorite Covers:
I already told you why I like the first two covers. Now let’s talk about the surprise in this list. I actually like the russian cover. It’s pretty good and I love the art used. Yea I would change a few things but overall I really like this cover.
Least Favorite Covers:
I do like the Bulgarian cover because it reminds me of Tangled but when I saw that they used a Barbie I really didn’t like it. It could have been so much better. The Thai cover reminds of manga and the cover from Vietnam is a little bit weird. My least favorite is the swedish cover. The girl is just too creepy and I don’t like it.
So this is it, this week Book Traveling Thursdays. What did you think of these covers? Tell me in the comments 🙂
OH MY GOD, did you just name a favorite in the series?! 😛 I love the original one, and the russian one is pretty – I almost included the one for Cinder in my favorites too! I think the Bulgarian one is similar to the spanish editions, they’re not so bad =/ My least favorite is the swedish, and why does she have red hair? is she a cross between cress and scarlet?

We already talked about this yesterday. Cress is the best one 😛 . I kind of like the bulgarian one but it has a few problems. The swedish is creepy and as you said she has red hair. Why? That’s not Cress

the one for cinder had blonde hair… Cinder isn’t blond!

At least Scarlet does have red hair in the swedish cover because the other two are totally wrong

We have to wait to see. It’s still pretty soon for Winter to have a lot of different covers

yeah, I know… but Winter is supposed to have brown skin, I hope the covers don’t mess that up

I would be very mad if they changed that in the covers

Awesome post! The covers don’t seem to be bad for this book. I’m not going to participate this week, but definitely will next week 🙂

Sweden totally flopped this round. I actually really like the Bulgaria poster- really pretty. But the original beats them all!

The Bulgarian is cute but I didn’t like that it was a Barbie. The Sweden is just bad

I love Cress!! My favorite books of the series thus far (I haven’t read Winter yet….eeekkk!). How cool that you found and showcased all those covers! I love the Portugal one especially. I am signing up on Goodreads now for your weekly meme. Sounds super fun!
In case you’re interested, I reviewed Cress a few weeks ago. You can check it out here: https://greenishbookshelf.wordpress.com/2015/11/19/it-just-keeps-getting-better-cress-a-review/

Ooh the Portuguese and Russian ones are so pretty! I completely agree with you on the ones you didn’t like, especially the ones from Vietnam and Sweden. That girl on the Swedish cover looks nothing like Cress and what’s with that expression?

The swedish covers are a little bit creepy. Have you seen their covers for Cinder and Scarlet? Also creepy and the Cinder from the cover looked nothing like Cinder

No, but now I’m not sure I want to haha I will look them up though, I’m too curious 😛 Oh God the Scarlet one is the creepiest! It looks like the poster for a horror film..

Yep, I agree. I don’t even want to think what they’re going to do with Winter
