Today is thursday which means that is Book Traveling Thursdays, a weekly meme created by me and Danielle @ Danielle’s Book Blog. This weekly meme consists in picking a book related to the weekly theme that is announced in the group Goodreads page (if you want to join click here) at the beginning of each month. After that you can write a blog post where you explain why you choose that book and choose different covers from different countries. To make it a little bit easy you are going to choose different editions of the original cover, the cover from your country, your favorite cover, and your least favorite cover. This week theme is A Book with a Character who has Really Bad Luck. For this week theme I decided to choose The Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins because let’s be real, everyone in this book has bad luck.
These are the covers that everyone knows. I like these covers because it has the mockingjay and because these are iconic. When I think of The Hunger Games books I always remember these covers.
Cover from my Country (Portugal):
The portuguese covers are basically the same as the original ones. It has a few differences but it still has the same essence and I like it. However, right know it’s almost impossible to find these editions because they only sell the movie tie-ins. Thankfully I both a box a few months before the first movie was out so I have these.
Let’s just take a look for this Special Editions from the United Kingdom. How beautiful are they. I need to have these in my bookshelf because they are just amazing.
Least Favorite Covers:
When I was looking for my least favorite covers I found out that there are a lot of terrible covers. Just look to the different editions in the Goodreads page. However these, the danish covers, were the worst for me. Why?? Why would someone design something like this? I don’t understand.
So this is it, this week Book Traveling Thursdays. What did you think of these covers? And are you thinking of joining this weekly meme. If so tell me in the comments and link me to your posts. I would love to see it :).
