Today is thursday which means that is Book Traveling Thursdays, a weekly meme created by me and Danielle @ Danielle’s Book Blog. This weekly meme consists in picking a book related to the weekly theme that is announced in the group Goodreads page (if you want to join click here) at the beginning of each month. After that you can write a blog post where you explain why you choose that book and choose different covers from different countries. To make it a little bit easy you are going to choose different editions of the original cover, the cover from your country, your favorite cover, and your least favorite cover.
This weeks theme is National Book Lovers Day was two days ago… choose a book you think every book lover should read. This theme is actually pretty difficult because there are a lot of books I could have chosen today. However, in the end I ended up choosing I’ll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson because it’s such a beautiful book and everyone should read it. So let’s see a few covers:
This cover is beautiful. I love how colorful it is and how the font is placed and everything. I absolutely love this cover and I think that a lot of people too. Let’s be honest, the cover is gorgeous.
Cover from my Country (Portugal):
By now, if you read my BTT posts, you might know that Portugal doesn’t always have the best covers but this one is just stunning. I like that is similar to the original cover but at the same time different. It’s beautiful and I love everything about it and, to be honest, every time I see this edition in a bookstore I want to bring it home with me.
Favorite Covers:
As I said before, I love the portuguese ans US covers. They are gorgeous. I also really like the UK one. In the beginning I didn’t like this cover that much mainly because I don’t like that yellowish orange. However this cover started growing on me and now I like it.
Least Favorite Covers:
I really don’t like any of these covers. I don’t like the swedish cover at all. It’s weird and for me it reminds me a coloring book which is weird. I think that they could have done so much better. The one from Russia looks like a self-help book and not in a good way. The polish one is not the worst but there’s something in there that I don’t like. Then we have the cover from Slovakia. I can understand that they were trying to re-create the UK cover but for me they failed. I think that this cover is weird and I don’t like. Once again they could have done so much better but they didn’t. Lastly, I don’t even know what to say about the cover from Serbia. What is that??
So this is it, this week Book Traveling Thursdays. What did you think of these covers? Tell me in the comments 🙂

My faves are the U.S. and Portuguese covers. Gorgeous! I want to buy the book in Portuguese each time I see it in the store.

I actually noticed that a few months ago. It’s funny how similar the covers are. But fun fact: thw portuguese edition of I’ll Give You the Sun was released at least 3 months before First & Then 🙂
