Hi guys! Today I decided to do something that I’ve want to do for a few weeks but hadn’t got around too before. Basically today I’m going to talk about some Songs that Remind me of Books. I know that almost everyone has at least one song that is somehow connected to a book and because of that I decided to write this post. Let’s see some songs that make me think of books every time that I listen to them. Continue reading

T5W – Banned Books I’ve Read
It’s that time of the week again when I bring you the Top 5 Wednesdays, created by gingerreadslainey. If you want to know how T5W works you can go to the Goodreads group by clicking here. This weeks theme is Top 5 Banned Books I’ve Read. If you don’t know Banned Books Week this year goes from September 27 to October 3 and that’s the reason that this is this week’s theme. While banning books nationally it’s not a thing anymore there are still some schools and libraries that decide to ban books for the weirdest reasons. When I was doing some research for this topic I was surprised because there were some books that I wasn’t expecting in this list. So let’s see some of the banned books that I’ve read.
5. The Fault in Our Stars – John Green
I wasn’t expecting to see this book in a banned books list. It looks like that this book was pulled off from a Middle Grade School library because some parents thought that their kids shouldn’t read a book about teens with cancer who use crude language and that are in love. Even funnier is that all of John Green books have been banned from some school libraries.
4. The Diary of a Young Girl – Anne Frank
This was another book that surprised me. This book was also banned from some Middle Grade Schools because of its sexual content and homosexual themes. It was also banned because Anne Frank talked about the changes in her body which is pretty normal for a teen who’s growing up. I wasn’t expecting this because when I read this book the only thing I could think was how unfair the whole war was and the million of people who died.
3. Eleanor & Park – Rainbow Rowell
This book was banned from a library because it uses profanity and some sexuality. This even brought some controversy because Rainbow Rowell was set to visit the town library but her appearance was cancelled because of the ban.
2. Harry Potter – J. K. Rowling
I think that this one is not a surprise to anyone. Harry Potter has been banned from a lot of schools and libraries because it promotes witchcraft. Also, some people think that Harry and company are not good examples because they lie, break rules, and disobeys authority figures and kids should not be reading these kind of books. There a few more reasons why people keep banning Harry Potter but I think that it would take a whole post to talk (and rant) about it.
1. The Perks of Being a Wallflower – Stephen Chbosky
I can’t say that I’m surprised by seeing this book in this list because I’m not. This is one of the most challenged books of all time and I’ve seen some books being banned by way less than The Perks of Being a Wallflower. Some of the reasons why this book was banned were the sexually explicit content, the language, the drugs and the fact that it has a rape scene. That’s right. You know what’s even worse? A school banned this book in recently because it promotes a homosexual agenda.
These are some the banned books that I’ve read. If I could tell everything that I think about banned books I would be here ranting about it for a long time. What about you? Which banned books have you read? And what do you think about banned books? Tell me in the comments.
Favorite Book to Movie Adaptations
Hi guys! Today I decided to talk to you about my favorite book to movie adaptations. I don’t know if you’re like but most of the times I’m really pessimist about the movies even before the release because I had a lot of disappointments already (*cough* City of Bones *cough*). Because of that I decided to talk about some book to movie adaptations that I actually really like and also a few movies that I haven’t read the book yet but want to. (Note: The books are in a non-specific order)
Favorite Book to Movie Adaptations
1. The Perks of Being a Wallflower – Stephen Chbosky
I loved this book and the movie was so well done. The cast was amazing and everything was great in the movie. Maybe Hollywood should start using the authors as screenwriters because Stephen Chbosky did a great job on turning his book in an amazing movie. And not only he was the screenwriter but he was also the director. How amazing is that?
2. A Walk to Remember – Nicholas Sparks
I think I already told you how much I love Nicholas Sparks books. I’ve read all of them but normally I don’t watch the movie adaptations. I think I’ve only watched 3/4 movie adaptations of his books. This one is still my favorite and makes me cry every time (even when I know everything already).
3. The Hunger Games – Suzanne Collins
I think that The Hunger Games movies are so well done. I loved especially the first one. There where a few things I would have changed (like you know, Peeta’s leg) but I still loved the movie.
4. Harry Potter – J.K. Rowling
I have to be honest here. In this one I saw the movies before I read the books (and I still have two to read) but these movies are epic and changed a whole generation. I think I don’t need to explain a lot right?
5. One Day – David Nichols
This movie is one of the cases where I liked the movie more than the book. Don’t get me wrong, I loved the book but for some reason I really loved this movie and everyone should watch it because I don’t know anyone that actually saw this movie and it’s sad.
6. The Book Thief – Markus Zusak
Another one that I think that doesn’t need explanation. This book is amazing and everyone involved in the movie was able to make a really good (and devastating) movie. If you haven’t seen it yet you really need.
7. The Fault in our Stars – John Green
Let’s talk about another movie that makes me cry every time?? The movie was beautiful. Okay I didn’t like Ansel as Gus but I’m able to forget that and appreciate the movie every time I watch it.
8. The Hobbit – J.R.R. Tolkien
The first time I read The Hobbit I was thinking: “How are they doing 3 movies from this tiny book?”. Well, insert a lot of amazing scenes that weren’t in the book and that make the movie even better. But let’s be real, some of the scenes were still boring but I love this universe and it has beautiful views.
9. The Spectacular Now – Tim Sharp
Another book/movie that I normally don’t hear people talk about. I love coming-of-age stories and I liked the book but seeing it as a movie was even better. This is another one that I think that everyone should read/watch.
10. The Chronicles of Narnia – C.S. Lewis
I know… the movies were not that good but I loved them (well, I didn’t like the last one) and I don’t care about what other people say about the movies. Every time this is on TV I will watch it and love it.
Honorable Mention: The DUFF – Kody Keplinger
I’ve watched the movie last week and loved it. I loved the book and I was afraid to watch the movie because I knew how much they changed the plot but it actually worked. It was actually a good movie.
Books that I want to Read
1. The Invention of Hugo Cabret – Brian Selznick
2. Bridge to Terabithia – Katherine Paterson
3. The Princess Diaries – Meg Cabot
4. The Lovely Bones – Alice Sebold
5. The Lord of the Rings – J.R.R. Tolkien
These are some of my favorite book to movie adaptations and some books I want to read. I probably forgot a few movies but what can I do 😛 … Tell me in the comments what are some of your favorite book to movie adaptations and which books do you want to read..
Be, Room, Cliff Book Tag
Hi guys!! I told you the other day that I was going to do the Be, Room, Cliff book tag after doing the Marry, Kiss, Cliff Tag (see it here). Today is the day that I do it. once again it was a pretty funny tag to do. For this tag you have to choose 3 book female characters randomly and decide which one you want to be, have as roommate or throw off a cliff. Let’s start it.
Round 1
0
For the first round I got Clary Fray (The Mortal Instruments), Eleanor (Eleanor & Park) and Tris Prior (Divergent).
This round was quite easy. I don’t want to be Eleanor because she has a rough life and I wouldn’t want to go through what she went but I would love to have her as my roommate/best friend. Now between Clary and Tris I decided that I would like to be Clary more than Tris. So I would be Clary and I would kill Tris (not that killing her would change anything).
Round 2
0
In the second round the names sorted were Hermione Granger from Harry Potter, Tessa Gray from The Infernal Devices and Nehemia from Throne of Glass.
Just to start this round really well I would be Tessa. I’m not even explaining why. If you follow this blog you might know that I love this series (ans she has Will and Jem in her life 😛 ). I wouldn’t want to kill any of these girls but if I had to it would be Nehemia. This means that I would have Hermione has my roommate. Who wouldn’t want Hermione as her roommate?
Round 3
0
For this round the characters are: Hazel Grace Lancaster (The Fault in Our Stars), Feyre (A Court of Throns and Roses) and Alice Cullen (Twilight Saga).
Once again let’s start with the easy one, I would be Feyre without a doubt. For the other characters I wouldn’t want to kill any of them but I decided that I would like to have Alice as my roommate instead of Hazel. This means that I would kill Hazel. Sorry Hazel… It’s not that I don’t like you but I don’t want to be you and Alice would be a better roommate/best friend.
Round 4
In this fourth round the characters chosen were America Singer from The Selection, Luna Lovegood from Harry Potter and Katniss Everdeen from The Hunger Games.
Let’s start with the easy one. I would kill America because she drives me crazy and I don’t like her. I would finish The Selection series if she wasn’t this terrible main character that I don’t like. Between Katniss and Luna I don’t know who I’d want to be. Probably I wouldn’t want to be Katniss because I don’t want to participate in The Hunger Games so I would have her as my roommate. No one would try to mess with us. This means that I would be Luna which it’s not that bad because she’s quirky and a little bit crazy in a good way.
Round 5
0
For this round I got Isabelle Lightwood (The Mortal Instruments), Cath Avery (Fangirl) and Mara Dyer.
This round is quite easy even if wouldn’t want to kill any of them. I would be Cath because we are both fangirls and because she has Levi in her life. I would have Isabelle has my roommate/best friend because she’s amazing and once again no one would mess with me if she was my best friend. This means that I would have to throw Mara Dyer from a cliff. Sorry Mara. I don’t want to do it but I have to.
Round 6
This tag is almost in the end but we still have two rounds to go. For this second to last round the names sorted were Celia Bowen from The Night Circus, Celeana Sardothien from Throne of Glass and Anna Oliphant from Anna and the French Kiss.
I might love Celeana and the Throne of Glass series but I wouldn’t want to be her because she has to deal with a lot of stuff. This means that I would have her as my best friend and she could introduce me to Chaol and Dorian (and once again no one would mess up with me if she was my friend). I would be Anna because she lived in Paris alone (of course that my choice has nothing to do with St. Clair ok? 😛 ). This means that I would have to throw Celia from a cliff and that would break my heart but it’s something that I had to do.
Round 7
0
The last characters sorted for this tag were Cinder from The Lunar Chronicles, Bella Swan from the Twilight Saga and Juliette Ferrars from Shatter Me.
I’m going to say what everyone is thinking… I would throw Bella from a cliff. No explanation needed. I would have Cinder as my roommate and I would be Juliette. Once again this choice has nothing to do with the guy. I don’t even like Warner, he’s terrible 😛 … of course that I’d want to be Juliette because of Warner. He’s amazing and she’s a lucky girl.

So this was the Be, Room, Cliff Book Tag. If you end up doing this tag tell me in the comments so I can see your choices 😀
T5W – Side Characters That Deserve Their Own Series
It’s that time of the week again when I bring you the Top 5 Wednesdays, created by gingerreadslainey. If you want to know how T5W works you can go to the Goodreads group by clicking here. This weeks theme is Top 5 Side Characters That Deserve Their Own Series. Let’s start this list.
5. Isaac – The Fault in Our Stars
I would love to know more about Isaac’s story after the events of The Fault in Our Stars. This guy fought a battle against cancer, lost his sight and his best friend. I would love to know what happened to him and how he dealt with everything.
4. Tamlin – A Court of Throns and Roses
I think that Tamlin should have at least a novella. I would love to know everything that happened before he was cursed and also how his youth was.
3. Kenji – Shatter Me
Kenji was one of the best characters of the Shatter Me series so I would read a novel about his past.
2. Tsukiko – The Night Circus
A book about Tsukiko past would be a dream come true. If you’ve read The Night Circus you might know that Tsukiko talks a little bit about her past. I would love to read the complete story of it.
1. Patrick – The Perks of Being a Wallflower
By now you might know that The Perks of Being a Wallflower is one of my favorite books. I would read a book written in Patrick’s perspective and also from his past. Patrick is an amazing character and he totally deserved his own book.
These are some of the characters that I think that should have their own novels. What about you? Which characters did you included in your top? Tell me in the comments.
Disney Book Tag
Today I bring you the Disney Book Tag This tag was created by Katytastic for the release of the book The Isle of the Lost by Melissa de la Cruz. So let’s start it.
1. The Little Mermaid – a character who is out of their element, a “fish out of water”
For a «fish out of water» I decided to choose Juliette from Shatter Me. I’ve chosen Juliette because in the beginning you see this girl who is totally freaked out because of her power not only that but she is also being captive. You see that she is not in her environment because she is afraid that she can kill someone and because she hasn’t had contact with anyone for months.
2. Cinderella – a character who goes through a major transformation
If you’ve read The Perks of Being a Wallflower you know that Charlie had a great development through all the book. He went from this really shy boy to a not so shy boy who had a lot of amazing friends so I figured out that it was a good choice for this category.
3. Snow White – a book with an eclectic cast of characters
The Mortal Instruments series. I love these books and they have an amazing diversity of characters so it’s obviously right for this category.
4. Sleeping Beauty – a book that put you to sleep
I love Jane Austen, I really do but I wasn’t able to finish Emma. I just cannot finish it. I hated from the beginning and after a few weeks I totally gave up reading it.
5. The Lion King – a character who had something traumatic happen to them in childhood
I don’t know which YA heroes/heroines don’t have traumatic childhoods but For this case I choose Celeana. Look, this girl is a trained assassin so she really must have had a terrible childhood. We know she had because we find out about that in the book so…
6. Beauty and the Beast – A beast of a book (a big book) that you were intimidated by, but found the story to be beautiful
Definitely Outlander. That is a beast of a book and really intimidating but it’s just an amazing book and beautiful.
7. Aladdin – a character who gets their wish granted, for better or worse
This was a difficult category for me because I couldn’t think of no one but I just decided to choose Hazel Grace from The Fault in Our Stars. She has her wish granted and goes to Amsterdan but by the end of the trip we see it was for worse because Van Houten is a stupid little as***** (sorry if I offended anyone but it’s true).
8. Mulan – a character who pretends to be someone or something they are not
Darrow from Red Rising. We talking about someone who literally changes everything to look like someone that’s not him.
9. Toy Story – a book with characters you wish would come to life
The Infernal Devices series. I love all the characters but my decision was based basically by Will Herondale. You have to understand Will Herondale is everything.
10. Disney Descendants – your favorite villain or morally ambiguous character
I just love to hate Sebastian from The Mortal Instruments series. He is great villain with a twisted mind and I think he’s great.
So this was the Disney Book Tag. If you decide to do this tag just tell me in the comments.
