Book Traveling Thursdays #32 – International Day of Happiness

Today is thursday which means that is Book Traveling Thursdays, a weekly meme created by me and Danielle @ Danielle’s Book Blog. This weekly meme consists in picking a book related to the weekly theme that is announced in the group Goodreads page (if you want to join click here) at the beginning of each month. After that you can write a blog post where you explain why you choose that book and choose different covers from different countries. To make it a little bit easy you are going to choose different editions of the original cover, the cover from your country, your favorite cover, and your least favorite cover.  Continue reading

The Emoji Book Tag

the emoji book tag

Hi guys! Today I’m back with another tag. I was tagged by Mariana @ Book is Glee to The Emoji Book Tag so I decided to answer to this tag today. This tag consists of using some of the emojis that you love or use the most and find a book to match it up. Emojis is something that I actually use a lot when I’m tweeting but because I keep using the same emojis it wasn’t that difficult to choose my most used and favorite ones. As a disclaimer, I have a Samsung phone and because of that I decided to use Samsung emojis instead of the Apple ones. I actually think that Samsung emojis are way more cute than Apple emojis. The only problem is the lack of the unicorn emoji. So let’s see my picks for this tag 🙂 Continue reading

Top 10 Favorites of 2015 | Favorite Books

favorite books 2015

Hi guys! As you might know today starts the last week of 2015. Yes, next week by this time we will be in 2016. Can you imagine? This year went by so fast. Because of that this week will be dedicated to my favorites of 2015. It might be books, it might be TV Shows, it might as well be my favorite covers of 2015, I still don’t know for sure but I’ll have a new list each day. Actually, if you want me to do a list of something just tell me in the comments. I might like the idea and do it 🙂 . To start this week I thought that I should start with my Top 10 Favorite Books of 2015, however, and because I keep cheating in these things, I’ll be showing you not 10 but 11 books (technically it’s more than 11 because I’ll have books from the same series). So let’s see some of my favorite books.

Disclaimer: These books are books that I’ve read in 2015 and because of that some of these books were released before this year. Also, the books that I’m going to show are going to appear in a random order because I couldn’t choose my favorite. Continue reading

Summertime Madness Book Tag

summertimemadnessbooktag

Hi again 🙂 ! I was tagged by Cristina @ My Tiny Obsessions to do the Summertime  Madness Book Tag (created by  Jackeatsbooks) and because we almost at the end of summer I decided to answer it. Thank you Cristina for tagging me to do this amazing tag.

1. Show a book with a summery cover!

The Fill-In Boyfriend

0

I’m stealing Cristina’s answer for this one and choose The Fill-in Boyfriend for this because I absolutely loved this book. Not only the cover looks summery but the book also has a lot of elements that remind me of summer so I had to choose this one.

2. Pick one fictional place that would be the perfect destination for a summer vacation!

Anna and the French Kiss (Anna and the French Kiss, #1)

0

For this one I’m picking Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins. I would love to go to Paris and especially on summer so I needed to pick this one 🙂 . Also, this is another book that I loved and Paris is a really important part of it.

3. You,re about to go on a flight to your summer vacation. But you want to read a book that lasts for the whole flight, what novella do you choose.

Never Never (Never Never, #1)

0

This depends a lot of the flight I’m taking because it could be a short or a long flight. However I would try to pick a fast-passing book that I couldn’t let down while reading it. For that I would choose something by Colleen Hoover because I normally read her books in one-sitting.

4. You have a case of summertime sadness what happy book do you pick up to shine a smile on your face?

Everything, Everything

0

There are a few books that make me have a stupid smile on my face after reading it but most recently I finished Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon and I couldn’t stop smiling after reading it.

5. You’re sitting at the beach all alone…which fictional character would be your beach babe?

Clockwork Angel (The Infernal Devices, #1)

0

Do I have to choose only one?? That’s a difficult task but I would probably pick Will Herondale because I love him and he’s great and would be reading a great book at the beach.

6. To match your ice cream you want an icy cool sidekick! Which fictional sidekick do you pick?

The Perks of Being a Wallflower0

This is an obvious one. I had to pick Patrick from The Perks of Being a Wallflower. The book is great and Patrick is great. I would have so much fun if he was my sidekick (also, this is an excuse to have Logan Lerman’s beautiful face on my blog 😀 ).

7. Share the summertime happiness! Who do you tag?

This tag has been around for a long time so I’m not tagging anyone in particular because I’m pretty sure that almost everyone has already answered to this tag. I’m tagging everyone you wants to do this tag so if you end up doing it just tell me in the comments 😀 .

The Fill-In Boyfriend by Kasie West – Review

The Fill-In BoyfriendPublication Date:

May 5th 2015

Publisher:

HarperTeen

Goodreads Synopsis:

When Gia Montgomery’s boyfriend, Bradley, dumps her in the parking lot of her high school prom, she has to think fast. After all, she’d been telling her friends about him for months now. This was supposed to be the night she proved he existed. So when she sees a cute guy waiting to pick up his sister, she enlists his help. The task is simple: be her fill-in boyfriend—two hours, zero commitment, a few white lies. After that, she can win back the real Bradley.

The problem is that days after prom, it’s not the real Bradley she’s thinking about, but the stand-in. The one whose name she doesn’t even know. But tracking him down doesn’t mean they’re done faking a relationship. Gia owes him a favor and his sister intends to see that he collects: his ex-girlfriend’s graduation party—three hours, zero commitment, a few white lies.

Just when Gia begins to wonder if she could turn her fake boyfriend into a real one, Bradley comes waltzing back into her life, exposing her lie, and threatening to destroy her friendships and her new-found relationship.

Review:

This book was one of that books I was excited to read this summer. I’ve read The Distance Between You by the same author a few months ago during a reading slump and I decided to do the same last week. This book didn’t disappoint me. I read it in 4 hours and at the end I had the biggest smile on my face. The book starts in prom night when the main character, Gia, boyfriend breaks up with her right in front of school. After that she sees a guy sitting in the car and asks him to be the fill-in boyfriend so that her friends do think that she was lying. At the start I didn’t Gia at all. She was a shallow girl who only cared about other people would think about her and you could see that in the first pages. But it was possible to see her development through the book and how she discovered herself. I loved the Fill-In Bradley and his sister Bec and their relationship as siblings. The Fill-In Bradley also had his problems but I liked how his story ended. The way that Gia and the Fill-In Bradley’s relationship developed was pretty cute. But let’s talk about Gia’s friends. Really? You’re best friend of years never lied to you but you still believe another girl who you’ve known for less time that the boyfriend might be fake?? If my friends did it they would not be my friends for that long. But well if that didn’t happened there was no book. I was sad about the way the book ended. I just wanted a little bit more but I really liked this book.
Overall, this was a super cute and cheesy contemporary book that makes you smile the whole time you’re reading and the few hours after. If you like these kind of books you should read it.
