Top 10 Favorites of 2015 | Favorite Book Covers

favorite book covers

Hi guys! Once again I’m here to talk about some of my favorites of 2015. I already told you about my Top 10 Favorite Books of 2015 and my Top 10 Favorite TV Shows of 2015(here and here) and today I’m going to be talking about my Top 10 Favorite Book Covers of 2015. Everyone loves a good book cover and you know that I love book covers so much that I created a weekly meme about it so I had to do this top. As a disclaimer I’m already telling you that I haven’t read every single one of these books and I don’t even own some of them. This top is all about covers and not about content so I think that I should also choose a few books I haven’t read yet. Continue reading

Top 10 Favorites of 2015 | Favorite Books

favorite books 2015

Hi guys! As you might know today starts the last week of 2015. Yes, next week by this time we will be in 2016. Can you imagine? This year went by so fast. Because of that this week will be dedicated to my favorites of 2015. It might be books, it might be TV Shows, it might as well be my favorite covers of 2015, I still don’t know for sure but I’ll have a new list each day. Actually, if you want me to do a list of something just tell me in the comments. I might like the idea and do it 🙂 . To start this week I thought that I should start with my Top 10 Favorite Books of 2015, however, and because I keep cheating in these things, I’ll be showing you not 10 but 11 books (technically it’s more than 11 because I’ll have books from the same series). So let’s see some of my favorite books.

Disclaimer: These books are books that I’ve read in 2015 and because of that some of these books were released before this year. Also, the books that I’m going to show are going to appear in a random order because I couldn’t choose my favorite. Continue reading

Book Traveling Thursdays #16 – Favorite Diverse Book

Today is thursday which means that is Book Traveling Thursdays, a weekly meme created by me and Danielle @ Danielle’s Book Blog. This weekly meme consists in picking a book related to the weekly theme that is announced in the group Goodreads page (if you want to join click here) at the beginning of each month. After that you can write a blog post where you explain why you choose that book and choose different covers from different countries. To make it a little bit easy you are going to choose different editions of the original cover, the cover from your country, your favorite cover, and your least favorite cover. This weeks theme is Everyone loves Diverse Books. Choose your favorite diverse book. For this week I decided to choose one of my favorite books of 2015. The book is Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon. Let’s go see some covers. Continue reading

T5W – Favorite Title Fonts on Covers

t5w

It’s that time of the week again when I bring you the Top 5 Wednesdays, created by gingerreadslainey. If you want to know how T5W works you can go to the Goodreads group by clicking here. This weeks theme is Top 5 Favorite Title Fonts on Covers. I really like to appreciate the aesthetics of book covers but to be honest fonts is the last thing that I tend to notice. However this list made appreciate the fonts and understand how important they are in the final cover So let’s start this list.

The Lunar Chronicles – Marissa Meyer

Cinder (The Lunar Chronicles, #1)

I think that this font is really beautiful and it adds something to the cover itself. Not only that but it also looks a little bit futuristic for some reason 🙂 .

The Peach Keeper (Portuguese Edition)– Sarah Addison Allen

A Árvore dos Segredos

This is one of that books that I don’t hear anyone talking about and it makes me a little bit sad because Sarah Addison Allen has beautiful books. To be honest I love all of the portuguese edition covers of Sarah Addison Allen’s books and I think that the font is one of the things that caught my attention when I first saw this book (that and the beautiful cover also). The thing is that I really like the handwritten fonts and this one is just beautiful. However I’m mad now because the last book that was released here didn’t have this type of cover (an font) and now it doesn’t match with all the other beautiful books that I have that were written by the author.

Confess – Colleen Hoover

Confess

I really like the font that is used in this cover (and I loved the book). I like how the title is the main point of the cover and I love the colors used in the font. Is really gorgeous.

My Heart and Other Black Holes – Jasmine Warga

My Heart and Other Black Holes

One thing I love in titles is when people mix different fonts in the title. I do it a lot of the times in my post headers. Because of that I really like the fonts used in this cover. One thing important is that the different fonts need to look good when they are together and it really worked in this cover.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower – Stephen Chbosky

The Perks of Being a Wallflower

What a shock!! The Perks of Being a Wallflower in one of my lists (like it doesn’t happen almost every week 😛 ). I really love how the title looks handwritten and the words in the back. It really makes a beautiful cover.

T5W – Favorite Books Dealing with Mental Illness

t5w

It’s that time of the week again when I bring you the Top 5 Wednesdays, created by gingerreadslainey. If you want to know how T5W works you can go to the Goodreads group by clicking here. This weeks theme is Top 5 Favorite Books Dealing with Mental Illness. I’ve read a few books dealing with mental illness but most of these books are about depression. After looking for a little bit in the books I’ve read I was able to find books not only about depression but also about other mental illness. So let’s start this list.

5. Silver Linings Playbook – Matthew Quick

If you haven’t read this book you probably watched the movie and know that the main characters suffer from mental illness and the male protagonist was even in a mental institution for quite a few time.

4. All the Bright PlacesJennifer Niven

This is a beautiful book where both the main characters deal with depression and suicidal thoughts. Not only that but Finch suffers from a sort of bipolar disorder. It’s a book that opens your open to depression.

3. Everything, Everything – Nicola Yoon

I’m not talking a lot of the book because it’s pretty recent but someone has a mental illness that really affects the book. This is an amazing book and if you haven’t read it you definitely should.

2. My Heart and Other Black Holes – Jasmine Warga

Another book in which both main characters deal with depression and suicidal thoughts. It’s one of the best books that I’ve read this year and the way that the author describes depression it’s really heart-breaking.

1. The Perks of Being a Wallflower – Stephen Chbosky

Is this a surprise? I’ve been very open about how much I love this books. It’s one of my favorite books ever and the way that it deals with Charlie’s mental illness is amazing and heart-breaking. For me this is a must read book and it had to be my number one pick for this week top.

Summer Reads Wrap-Up and Top 5 Favorite Books

summer reads

Hi guys! In the beginning of June I talked to you about the books I wanted to read during the Summer (click here). Now that the Summer is almost over (it’s already cold here) I decided to do a Summer Wrap Up and see how many books I’ve read from my original post. In this post I’m also telling you my top 5 favorite books that I’ve read this Summer. For this post I’m only talking about the books I’ve read during the months of June, July and August.

planned read

  • P.S. I Still Love You – Jenny Han
  • Proof of Forever – Lexa Hillyer
  • 99 Days – Katie Cotugno
  • City Love – Susane Colasanti
  • Broken Hearts, Fences and Other Things to Mend – Katie Finn
  • The Fill-in Boyfriend – Kasie West
  • Joyride – Anna Banks
  • Emmy & Oliver – Robin Benway
  • Extraordinary Means – Robyn Schneider
  • Nowhere But Here – Katie McGarry

read books wrapup

  • P.S. I Still Love You by Jenny Han – 3.5 out of 5 stars
  • City Love by Susane Colasanti – 3 out of 5 stars
  • The Fill-in Boyfriend by Kasie West –  4 out of 5 stars

As you can see I’m terrible in keeping up with TBRs. From the 10 books I wanted to read I’ve only read 3 which is terrible. But while I haven’t read the books I’ve planned I was able to read other books.

also read

  • Beyond Reach (True Calling #2) by Siobhan Davis – 4 out of 5 stars
  • Lying Out Loud by  Kody Keplinger – 3 out of 5 stars
  • Crown of Midnight (Throne of Glass #2) by Sarah J. Mass – 5 out 5 stars
  • Damage Done by Amanda Panitch- 4 out 5 stars
  • Truth & Temptation by Riley Edgewood- 3 out of 5 stars
  • Break Your Heart by Rhonda Helms- 4 out of 5 stars
  • A Summer Like no Other  by Elodie Nowodazkij- 3.5 out 5 stars
  • Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon – 5 out 5 stars
  • Another Day (Every Day #2) by David Levithan – 3.5 out of 5 stars
  • The Girl’s Guide to the Apocalypse by Daphne Lamb- 2 out of 5 stars

As you can see I’ve read a few books during the last three months and while I enjoyed almost every book I’ve read I didn’t end up the Summer in a positive note. I rated the last book I’ve read a 2 out of 5 stars. Unfortunately we can’t enjoy every book we read. Now for my favorite books I’ve read during the Summer.
