Top 10 Favorites of 2015 | Favorite Books

favorite books 2015

Hi guys! As you might know today starts the last week of 2015. Yes, next week by this time we will be in 2016. Can you imagine? This year went by so fast. Because of that this week will be dedicated to my favorites of 2015. It might be books, it might be TV Shows, it might as well be my favorite covers of 2015, I still don’t know for sure but I’ll have a new list each day. Actually, if you want me to do a list of something just tell me in the comments. I might like the idea and do it 🙂 . To start this week I thought that I should start with my Top 10 Favorite Books of 2015, however, and because I keep cheating in these things, I’ll be showing you not 10 but 11 books (technically it’s more than 11 because I’ll have books from the same series). So let’s see some of my favorite books.

Disclaimer: These books are books that I’ve read in 2015 and because of that some of these books were released before this year. Also, the books that I’m going to show are going to appear in a random order because I couldn’t choose my favorite. Continue reading

My Life in Books! Book Tag

my life in books

Hi guys! Today I wasn’t going to do a tag because my last was a tag but once again I had no time to write a post so to have a post up I decided to do another tag (I promise you that I will not post a tag for the next week 😛 ). Today I’m going to answer to the My Life in Books! book tag. I wasn’t tagged by anyone but I saw it over a Cristina’s blog My Tiny Obsessions and it looked so funny that I had to do it. After that I found out that I’d been tagged by the amazing Analle @ Book Snacks so thanks you Analle for tagging me 🙂 .

1. Find a Book for Each of your Initials.

cipj

C – City of Heavenly Fire

I – Ignite Me

P – The Perks of Being a Wallflower

J – Just One Day

2. Count your Age Along Your Bookshelf – Which Book Is It?

If I Stay (If I Stay, #1)

I have two bookshelves in different houses but I have to use the bookshelf next to me right now that is basically my TBR and books that I still have to take home. In this bookshelf the book number 25 (my age) is If I Stay by Gayle Forman.

3. Pick a Book Set in your City/State/Country.

Os Maias

I’m stealing the answer that Cristina used and choose Os Maias by Eça Queirós. It’s an amazing book set in Portugal. Also, I live close to Sintra and part of the book is in Sintra (which by the way it’s a beautiful village). And have I told you that this book is the reason why I started reading?

4. Pick a Book that Represents a Destination you Would Love to Travel to.

Isla and the Happily Ever After (Anna and the French Kiss, #3)

I was going to say Anna and the French Kiss but then I remembered that I also want to travel to New York so I will pick Isla and the Happily Ever After by Stephanie Perkins.

5. Pick a Book that’s your Favorite Color.

Fangirl

Once again I’m stealing Cristina’s answer. I just love the colors (especially the mint green) used on Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell.

6. Which Book do you Have the Fondest Memories of?

Meet Me Under the Ombu Tree

I think I’ve already talked about this book but it’s Meet Me Under the Ombu Tree by Santa Montefiore. I absolutely love that book and is just an amazing read.

7. Which Book did you Have the Most Difficulty Reading?

Dragonfly in Amber (Outlander, #2)

Probably Dragonfly in Amber by Diana Gabaldon. I’ve been trying to finish it since May but I still have 275 pages to go.

8. Which Book in Your TBR Pile will Give you the Biggest Sense of Accomplishment When you Finish it?

Sem Título

Once again, Dragonfly in Amber by Diana Gabaldon or The Luminaries by Eleanor Catton. I will be extremely happy when I finish one of these books.

So this is it. I’m not tagging anyone in particular but if you want to do this tag just tell me and you’re tagged 🙂 .

T5W – Favorite Books of the Year So Far!

It’s that time of the week again when I bring you the Top 5 Wednesdays, created by gingerreadslainey. If you want to know how T5W works you can go to the Goodreads group by clicking here. This weeks theme is Top 5 Favorite Books of the Year So Far. I’ve read 36 books this year so far so I don’t know how I was able to reduce this list to only 5 books. Let’s be real, I may have cheated a little bit because only 5 books?? Not happening. Let’s start this list.

5. Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda – Becky Albertalli

This is the amazing debut novel by Becky Albertalli and if you haven’t read it yet you should. The plot was pretty cool and I liked all the characters and everything about this book. If you want to read my review click here.

4. My Heart and Other Black Holes – Jasmine Warga

myheartandotherblackholes

Another debut novel that I’ve read this year. This book is beautiful and so heartbreaking that it is almost impossible to not like it. It is about teen suicide and I know that this is a sensitive theme but if you like to read this type of books you should. You can read my review here.

3. A Court of Throns and Roses and Throne of Glass – Sarah J. Maas

sjm

This is where the cheating starts. You can’t ask me to choose between A Court of Thorns and Roses and Throne of Glass. You just can’t do it. Both books were amazing and I love how Sarah J. Maas creates the worlds and also her writing. And let’s not talk about the characters. They are amazing. You can read reviews for both books by clicking here and here.

2. City of Heavenly Fire – Cassandra Clare

City of Heavenly Fire (The Mortal Instruments, #6)If you’ve been here for long enough you might know about my love for all of the books written by Cassandra Clare. The woman is a genius and I love how she ended The Mortal Instruments series and also how she introduced the characters from The Dark Artifices. This book was one of the best from the series and I had to include it in this list.

1. Harry Potter (Books 1 – 5) – J. K. Rowling

harry potter

I know. Cátia you haven’t read the Harry Potter books?? No I haven’t, until the beginning of this year when I decided that one of my New Year resolutions was to read the Harry Potter series. And I’m doing it. I still have to read the last two books but at least I’m reading this. And I’m loving it. I don’t know why I took so long to start reading these books but I can accept that it was a big mistake that I did.

This is it, my favorite books of the year so far. Tell me, which books have you included in your tops?
