Top 10 Favorites of 2015 | Favorite Book Covers
Hi guys! Once again I’m here to talk about some of my favorites of 2015. I already told you about my Top 10 Favorite Books of 2015 and my Top 10 Favorite TV Shows of 2015(here and here) and today I’m going to be talking about my Top 10 Favorite Book Covers of 2015. Everyone loves a good book cover and you know that I love book covers so much that I created a weekly meme about it so I had to do this top. As a disclaimer I’m already telling you that I haven’t read every single one of these books and I don’t even own some of them. This top is all about covers and not about content so I think that I should also choose a few books I haven’t read yet. Continue reading
Book Recommendations: Young Adult Contemporary | Part I
Hi guys! It’s time for a few more book recommendations and the theme for today is Young Adult Contemporary Novels. I love contemporary so much that when I was preparing this list I had 15 books to recommend. Because of that I decided to split this in 3 different posts that are going to be uploaded in the next few weeks. If you are used to read contemporary you know that there is this side of contemporary that deals with some difficult themes like mental illness, abuse and others. Because I think that these books are so powerful I wanted to share with you some of my favorite novels that feature one or more of these themes. So let’s start these recommendations. Continue reading
T5W – Favorite Books Dealing with Mental Illness
It’s that time of the week again when I bring you the Top 5 Wednesdays, created by gingerreadslainey. If you want to know how T5W works you can go to the Goodreads group by clicking here. This weeks theme is Top 5 Favorite Books Dealing with Mental Illness. I’ve read a few books dealing with mental illness but most of these books are about depression. After looking for a little bit in the books I’ve read I was able to find books not only about depression but also about other mental illness. So let’s start this list.
5. Silver Linings Playbook – Matthew Quick
If you haven’t read this book you probably watched the movie and know that the main characters suffer from mental illness and the male protagonist was even in a mental institution for quite a few time.
4. All the Bright Places – Jennifer Niven
This is a beautiful book where both the main characters deal with depression and suicidal thoughts. Not only that but Finch suffers from a sort of bipolar disorder. It’s a book that opens your open to depression.
3. Everything, Everything – Nicola Yoon
I’m not talking a lot of the book because it’s pretty recent but someone has a mental illness that really affects the book. This is an amazing book and if you haven’t read it you definitely should.
2. My Heart and Other Black Holes – Jasmine Warga
Another book in which both main characters deal with depression and suicidal thoughts. It’s one of the best books that I’ve read this year and the way that the author describes depression it’s really heart-breaking.
1. The Perks of Being a Wallflower – Stephen Chbosky
Is this a surprise? I’ve been very open about how much I love this books. It’s one of my favorite books ever and the way that it deals with Charlie’s mental illness is amazing and heart-breaking. For me this is a must read book and it had to be my number one pick for this week top.
These are some of my favorite books dealing with mental illness. What about you? Which books did you included in your top? Tell me in the comments.
