I’ve been reading a lot of contemporary books recently mostly because I’ve been in a mood for contemporary so when I saw this book on NetGalley I decided to read it because it looked interesting. This was such a fun and cute read. This book is about Rikki and Sam who have hated each other since grade school. You can imagine how surprised they get when they find that they’re not only attending the same college but that they are in the same dorm. They eventually become friends. I liked how the characters were not perfect like in some books and how they really looked like their age. It’s normal to have eighteen year-olds making stupid things (but not as stupid as some things that happened). I liked Rikki and Sam’s friendship and the development of their relationship without having the insta-love thing. It were just a few pages and I think I can deal with that. I also liked Rikki’s friendship with her roommate Tamsin even when they’re completely different from each other. I really liked this book but by the end some things really made me roll my eyes. Let’s just say that stupid decisions were made (both by Rikki and by Sam) and I was not happy about it. I think that it would be so much better if they hadn’t happened. It would make me so much happier (I would be especially happy if we could erase something that happened right in the end of the book). Did these scenes make like this book less? Well, just a little bit. It were just a few pages and I think I can deal with that. I also liked Rikki’s friendship with her roommate Tamsin even when they’re completely different from each other.
Overall, this was a cute book and I enjoyed. It was something that I expect from contemporary books. Yeah there were a couple of scenes that I didn’t enjoy but I think that you should give it a try if you like these type of books. Anyway, I excited for the next book and to learn a little bit more about other characters.
