NSFW by Piper Lawson – eARC Review

NSFWPublication Date:

October 11th 2017

Publisher:

Piper Lawson

Goodreads Synopsis:

The office is full of rules. Everything is off-limits. Making a charity calendar of the sexy guys on your floor? Not allowed. Shrinking your boss’ underwear when he sends it for dry-cleaning? Can’t do that either.

But those things keep the natural balance. See, Avery Banks, our resident rising star, is a shark. The tall, blond, and gorgeous kind with zero patience and even less forgiveness.

Good thing I’m the Mae West of executive assistants. I live to put grown men in their place.

He wasn’t supposed to find out…

Now he’s made it his personal vendetta to screw me the way I screwed him. I’m at his beck and call, 24/7, for every humiliating, meaningless request.

Until we stumble on a new game. One we both want to play. One we both need to win.

And once we start…I’m not sure Avery wants to replace me.

I’m not sure I want him to.

All I want is more of this. The fire under the ice. What happens behind closed doors.

It’s twisted, and so damn hot. But he’s my boss. And with the company coming off a scandal even I couldn’t engineer? What we’re doing is strictly NSFW.

Lucky for me, Avery and I have one thing in common…

We both suck at following the rules.

Review:

*I was provided a copy by the author in exchange for an honest review

I’ve been reading  Piper Lawson’s books for over a year  and I can tell you that so far I really enjoyed all of them. However, I was not expecting  NSFW AT ALL. I magine getting to your email and see an ARC that you had no idea existed but that you really wanted to read!! AWESOME! NSFW is a sort of companion to PLAY, that I read last year, and I was really excited to read it because I wanted a book about Charlie and Avery and that’s what I got.

Anyway, I ended up enjoying this one a little bit more that PLAY mostly because I loved Charlie and Avery. They are awesome and their relationship is everything I wanted for them since the first book. First of all, I loved Charlie. She’s such a great girl. Okay, she was kind of mean (without wanting to be) sometimes with some things she would do to Avery but she so much fun and she was so loyal to her friends and to her grandma. I loved her for that. Yes, she was a little lost and it took her some time to realized what she really wanted to do with her life but she was a great character anyway. With Avery I can tell you that I didn’t get to know him as well as Charlie mostly because this book was told mostly from her POV. You can still see how great of a guy he is even if he doesn’t show it to everyone. I especially loved when he talked about his little sister and how much he cared (and had done) for her. Charlie and Avery also had a great chemistry and that’s always an added bonus. They went from “hating” each other (come on, they couldn’t fool anyone) to talk about their lives and helping each other and I loved that.

Once again, I really liked Piper’s writing style and how the story flew so easily. I also loved how she included a lot of funny stuff but that was expected from the moment we know the book is from Charlie’s POV. Sometimes I couldn’t stop laughing. My only big problem with this book is that is mostly told from Payton’s POV. There was only one chapter from Avery’s POV and I would love to have seen what was in his mind in some situations. His POV would have been awesome.

Overall, this was a really great book. If you love new adult you should definitely give this one a try. I know this won’t be my last Piper Lawson book for sure… especially because I’m still waiting for the book about Riley XD.

4 stars

Have you read this book? If so, what did you think about it? If you haven’t read it would you read it?
