Beyond the Books #5

Hi guys! It’s the end of the month which means it’s time for my new monthly feature Beyond the Books where I talk about all the random things I’ve been watching or loving during that month. Guys, I’m finally getting used to my new schedule which means I actually watched a lot more things this month than the previous months. Let’s just say I had a really good month in terms of TV shows and movies. I have a few things I loved during the month of November so I’ll have a lot to talk about once again. But let’s see what I’ve been watching and listening to.

tv shows

 The Voice Portugal

Once again, I’m still watching The Voice Portugal. It’s what I do every sunday night and I love it. Actually, I’m writing this post on a sunday and today is the day that the live shows start. I’m excited for that. As I said before, there is so much talent this season. For me it’s still the best season so far.

 This is Us

I haven’t been watching any TV show the past few months but I finally started This is Us. Well, I can’t really say I started because I only watched one episode but I really enjoyed it and I plan on keep watching it. I only have another priorities before (yes, I’m looking at you Gilmore Girls… I’ll have time soon)

movies

Star Trek Beyond

After a few months I finally watched Star Trek Beyond. I loved it and it made me laugh and cry… well, I didn’t cry but it was still sad sometimes, especially when I realized this was on of Anton Yelchin’s last movies. Chekov is one of my favorite characters and every time I smiled I was sad. Let’s just all agree that life is f*cking unfair sometimes.

Les Miserables

This is one of those movies I already watched a few times but it was on TV on day when I got home and it was just starting so I watched it again. I love the songs okay?? Also, I don’t miss any opportunity to see Aaron Tveit and sing One Day More (and let’s not forget about Eddie Redmayne XD).

Spice World

Remember that time Spice Girls had a masterpiece of a movie (and by masterpiece I mean a really weird movie)?? Well, it was on TV a couple a weeks ago and I ended up watching it. To be honest, I know it’s not a great movie but I grew up loving the Spice Girls so I watched it. This movie is great to take a trip down memory lane XD.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

Just like almost everyone I ended up watching Fantastic Beast and Where to Find Them. Also, just like almost everyone, I loved it. It was such an amazing movie. It made me laugh, almost cry and trying to guess a lot of things that happened XD. And can we talk about how adorable Newt Scamander is?? I LOVED HIM (just like I loved the other characters in the main group. Basically is an amazing movie and everyone should watch it :D.

Also, can we talk about all the creatures in this movie?? I don’t even know how many times I said “OMG! So adorable” in this movie because of them. Now, where can I get a Niffler??? I would love one. Look at this cuteness:

music

I didn’t listen to a lot of songs in November. My music player broke in the beginning of the month and I only managed to get a new one today. Seeing that I mostly listen to some music on the train when I’m going to work there wasn’t a lot I could do about it. I still listened to a few songs when I was home but mostly to Rita Ora (I’ll talk why next), Phillip Phillips and most recently A Fine Frenzy. And by recently I mean since the day I found out the actress playing Queenie in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is the girl from A Fine Frenzy XD. But here are some songs I’ve been obsessing with:

others

Rita Ora X Tezenis Show

As you might see from everything I talked about before I spent a lot of my time indoors this month. It’s cold and I just want to be home XD. But in the beginning of the month Rita Ora had a free mini-concert in Lisbon because of the release of her underwear collection in Tezenis and I had to go watch it. I’m not going to say I’m huge fan of Rita Ora but I love her songs. Her set was really short but I loved it anyway. She actually started the show inside the store so we only could see her in a projection but then she went to the platform they had there and it was awesome. I also loved that before her there was a portuguese singer that I love, Filipe Gonçalves, singing a lot of known hits for about 2 hours. I really enjoyed everything about the show. I wanted to add a lot of pics in here but my phone died when I was in the show and the pictures I did have were pretty bad. I do have one picture and I found a short video on Youtube so you can see how awesome it was :D.

Here’s what I’ve been doing Beyond the Books during November. I’ll be back next month and I’m pretty sure it will be awesome because I already a few things I plan on doing. If you like any of the things that I’ve talked about don’t forget to comment too so we can fangirl about it :D. And if you have any recommendation don’t forget to tell me in the comments.

  1. I still haven’t seen Fantastic Beasts! *hides face in shame* I really want to, but I haven’t gotten the chance yet! And I just watched the first episode of the Gilmore Girls revival last night (O.M.G. It was amazing!) I’ve loved Eddie Redmayne just from seeing him in The Theory of Everything so I just cannot wait to watch Fantastic Beasts.
