Today is thursday which means that is Book Traveling Thursdays, a weekly meme created by me and Danielle @ Danielle’s Book Blog. This weekly meme consists in picking a book related to the weekly theme that is announced in the group Goodreads page (if you want to join click here) at the beginning of each month. After that you can write a blog post where you explain why you choose that book and choose different covers from different countries. To make it a little bit easy you are going to choose different editions of the original cover, the cover from your country, your favorite cover, and your least favorite cover.
This weeks theme is Book with an Eye Candy Cover. Choose a book that you read/bought because of the cover. So for today I’m going to choose a book that I bought only because of the cover. I have no idea what this book is about and I haven’t read it yet (I plan on doing it soon). So the book for today is The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender by Leslye Walton. Let’s see a few covers:
Original and Favorite Cover:
Just look at this gorgeous cover. How could I resist to buy it?? I love that it’s simple but it’s still has the gold feather. I love the colors and I love that the title is included in the feather. Basically I love everything about this cover.
Cover from my Country (Portugal):
Surprise, Surprise… this book wasn’t released in Portugal. Maybe is for the best. Most of the times they mess up these gorgeous covers.
Least Favorite Cover:
I’m not telling that I hate these covers because I don’t, I just don’t like these as much as the original one. I like that the covers from Italy and Romania have the same feel as the original cover and the same colors but they are not as beautiful. And the feather in the cover from Romania is a little bit weird. I don’t know how I feel about the spanish cover. It’s not ugly but it’s one of my least favorites for sure.
So this is it, this week Book Traveling Thursdays. What did you think of these covers? Tell me in the comments 🙂
