Today is thursday which means that is Book Traveling Thursdays, a weekly meme created by me and Danielle @ Danielle’s Book Blog. This weekly meme consists in picking a book related to the weekly theme that is announced in the group Goodreads page (if you want to join click here) at the beginning of each month. After that you can write a blog post where you explain why you choose that book and choose different covers from different countries. To make it a little bit easy you are going to choose different editions of the original cover, the cover from your country, your favorite cover, and your least favorite cover.
This weeks theme is Because friendship matters choose your favorite bookish BFF. There were a few books that I could have featured today but in the end I decided to choose Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi because Kenji is the best and I want a best friend like him. I know that Kenji doesn’s appear a lot in this book but I’m pretty sure I used one of the books already so I had to choose this one. So let’s see some covers.
Original Covers:
Let’s all be honest here, the first cover was terrible. What did they had in their heads?? Good thing that they decided to change the covers to these gorgeous things. The new cover is so beautiful. I love everything about it. I love the colors, the design, the font, everything.
Cover from my Country (Portugal):
For some reason this book wasn’t released in Portugal yet. Portuguese publishers, can you please release this books. I would love that to happen and it would be even better if you kept the US covers.
Favorite Cover:
As I said before this is my favorite cover. I just can’t stop looking at it because it’s so beautiful.
Least Favorite Covers:
For some reason this book has so many bad covers. I was able to reduce the ugly covers to only 4 because if I didn’t this post would be extra long and no one wants that. The first one for me screams contemporary. Shatter Me is not a contemporary novel so this cover is not fit at all. The australian cover is just bad. That looks like a bad photoshop job. How was that released? The last two covers are just too weird. I can’t understand why people do something like this. Look at the cover from Argentina, that doesn’t make me think of Shatter Me at all.
So this is it, this week Book Traveling Thursdays. What did you think of these covers? Tell me in the comments 🙂
The one you liked with the eyes is the best, but of the last four which I don’t care for, Sweden is better than the others. Covers are important.!

Covers are so important. If I had seen the book with my least favorite covers I don’t know if I would give it a chance. The swedish cover is not that bad but I don’t think it’s the right cover for this book

We almost picked the same book! I was going to use the first book but I thought that their friendship was a lot more apparent in the second one

I thought about that too but I didn’t remember if I had used Unravel Me before or not so I went for Shatter Me. Kenji was still amazing in the first book so it’s not that bad 😛
