Hi guys! It’s time for a few more book recommendations. Today I decided to recommend you a few of my Favorite New Adult books. If you haven’t noticed I’ve been reading a lot of new adult and I love to read new adult so why not recommend some of my favorite books to you right? So let’s see which books made to this list 🙂 .
Slammed by Colleen Hoover
Following the unexpected death of her father, 18-year-old Layken is forced to be the rock for both her mother and younger brother. Outwardly, she appears resilient and tenacious, but inwardly, she’s losing hope.
Enter Will Cooper: The attractive, 21-year-old new neighbor with an intriguing passion for slam poetry and a unique sense of humor. Within days of their introduction, Will and Layken form an intense emotional connection, leaving Layken with a renewed sense of hope.
Not long after an intense, heart-stopping first date, they are slammed to the core when a shocking revelation forces their new relationship to a sudden halt. Daily interactions become impossibly painful as they struggle to find a balance between the feelings that pull them together, and the secret that keeps them apart.
I’m recommending New Adult books so I need to include a book written by the queen of New Adult, right?? If you know me you know that I love Colleen Hoover’s books and this one is one of my favorites. I’m not sure if this is New Adult or Young Adult mainly because Lake is still on high-school but I’m considering this as New Adult. This book is just beautiful. It deals with grief and other things and I absolutely loved it. If you want you can read my review here.
Just One Day by Gayle Forman
Allyson Healey’s life is exactly like her suitcase—packed, planned, ordered. Then on the last day of her three-week post-graduation European tour, she meets Willem. A free-spirited, roving actor, Willem is everything she’s not, and when he invites her to abandon her plans and come to Paris with him, Allyson says yes. This uncharacteristic decision leads to a day of risk and romance, liberation and intimacy: 24 hours that will transform Allyson’s life.
A book about love, heartbreak, travel, identity, and the “accidents” of fate, Just One Day shows us how sometimes in order to get found, you first have to get lost. . . and how often the people we are seeking are much closer than we know.
The first in a sweepingly romantic duet of novels. Willem’s story—Just One Year—is coming soon!
This is another one that I’m not sure if it’s YA or NA but Allyson is in college so, once again, for me this book is New Adult. This another book I loved. I loved how it wasn’t all about romance but also about self-discovery. However, if you are planning on reading this you might have to get Just One Year and Just One Night too. You might need it if you want closure.
Whatever It Takesby L.E. Bross
Tess is burdened with a responsibility she’s not quite sure she can handle, and Ryan is determined to save her from it—if she ever stops pushing him away—in this sexy follow-up to Right Where You Are, the first new adult novel in the captivating Second Chances series.
Tess is a lot of things. Strong. Independent. Determined. Completely overwhelmed by the responsibilities of being her little brother’s caretaker. But she can handle it. She has to. Because there’s no way in hell she’s letting anyone else raise Noah.
Ryan’s happy with a life on cruise control. He has no intention of tying himself down. That road only leads to heartbreak, a lesson he learned the hard way when he was fifteen. So why can’t he stay away from the one woman who broke his heart?
Tess knows exactly why Ryan keeps popping up right when she needs the most help: He’s got a hero complex big enough to save Cinderella. But Tess isn’t that girl, and she refuses to let him be part of her life. Not even when Noah takes a liking to him. Not even when they kind of, maybe, hook up.
Not even when she starts to fall for him…
This book… this book is amazing. I loved everything about it and it was one of my favorite books of 2015. If you read New Adult or want to start reading you should try this one. It’s amazing. But if you really want to read it you should start by reading Right Where You Are that is also another amazing book. Both of them can be read as a standalone but my advice is to read both of them. You can read my review for Right Where You Are and Whatever it Takes here and here.
Rikki by Abigail Strom
Ever since junior high and an ill-fated game of seven minutes in heaven, Rikki Eisendrath and Sam Payne have hated each others’ guts. But when they end up at the same college—and the same dorm—they figure it’s time to declare a truce.
They even become friends… sort of. But when Sam asks Rikki to model for his sculpting project, they start spending more time together—and her feelings for him get more complicated.
She tries to focus on the guy she’s been crushing on instead. But Sam’s the one she can’t stop thinking about, even though their arguments are starting to heat up as much as the chemistry between them.
With antagonism and attraction this intense, there’s bound to be an explosion. But when the dust settles, will Sam and Rikki be enemies, friends… or something more?
This book is really cute and it’s about two people who have hated each other for a long time but that eventually become friends in college. This is a good book to start reading New Adult. It has a couple of things I didn’t like it but in the end it’s still a good book. My review for Rikki can be found here.
When the Stars Align by Jeanette Grey
Their passion burned hotter than the stars . . .
For Josephine “Jo” Kramer, nothing has ever been easy. When she earns a summer internship in Puerto Rico, working at one of the world’s preeminent scientific facilities, she’ll let nothing distract her. Not her own insecurities, not the arrogant scientists, and definitely not her tall, chiseled research partner, Adam.
For Adam McCay, physics is simple-it’s women who are complicated. Especially brilliant, beautiful ones like Jo. From the moment they meet, he can feel the heat smoldering deep beneath her icy exterior. And Adam knows just what it will take to make Jo melt . . .
Under the endless stars of a tropical sky, Jo and Adam indulge their every desire. But as their internship comes to an end, their perfect island paradise is threatened. Was their time together a summer fling? Or is their passion hot enough to last the long winter nights?
From all the books I’m recommending today this might be the one who features more mature content so if you don’t like it this might not be the book for you. However this book really surprised me and it was really good. I loved the characters and the character development. It also talks about Astronomy and the nerd side of me loved this. If you want to know more about this book you can read my review here.
So these are a few more books that I want to recommend. Have you read any of these books or would you read any? Which New Adult books should I read? If you have any recommendations tell me in the comments 🙂 .
The only one on here that I’ve read is Slammed. I would suggest The Off-Campus series by Elle Kennedy, the Ivy Years series by Sarina Bowen, Easy by Tammara Webster, the More Than series by Jay McLean. I think I could go on and on!

Once again, those are all really good recommendations 😀 I am still not over the one creepy thing that one of the characters did in Rikki, but other than that it is a good book to start NA. I totally have to agree!

I’m not over it too but I try to forget it and a few other things that I didn’t like. Sometimes Sam would make some stupid things

True! There were a couple things that were a bit iffy, but the one that we are actually both trying to forget was really the one that weirded me out the most. Like, I would not see that as a compliment! hahaha

I would freak out and probably run away XD . Okay, I wouldn’t run away but I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t talk to him for a few weeks

Yep, I would definitely avoid him for as long as possible!

Yep and he would never enter in my room again without me being there 😛

He could be a great guy if it wasn’t for the creepy factor (also for some stupid things he did)

They all did stupid stuff though haha

That’s true. In the end we both liked the book anyway so that’s good. I hope Claire doesn’t have stupid and creepy things like these

I think I’m almost scared of New Adult because though I don’t mind sex being in novels, I feel that NA only really focuses on that aspect of relationships. Or that’swhat a lot of people have been saying about NA. You don’t really see NA Fantasy do you 🙂

I never read a new adult fantasy book. But you are right about one thing. A lot of people think that NA is only about sex but it’s not true. Most of NA has sex included but it’s not the main point of the book.

If you haven’t already, you definitely need to check out Jennifer L. Armentrout’s (J.Lynn) Wait For You series. Just…ugh. All the feels, trust me ❤ There is a reason she is one of my all time favorite authors – she's little miss multi-genre queen.

Jennifer L. Armentrout is on my tbr. I know that a lot of people loved that series. The only book I read written by her was Don’t Look Back and I really liked it 🙂
