Hi guys! I’m back today for Blogmas day 25 which means it’s the last day of Blogmas and it’s actually Christmas 😀 . Merry Christmas everybody (and Happy Holidays). Today I’m bringing you the mini-reviews of the last two short stories from My True Love Gave to Me, edited by Stephanie Perkins. This book is a collection of twelve short stories related to the this season of the year. Today I’m going to be reviewing Star of Bethlehem by Ally Carter and The Girl Who Woke the Dreamer by Laini Taylor. I’m also doing my overall review of the book.

This was another really cute story. I really liked the plot and the characters. I especially liked how important family was in this one. I also really liked the setting and it was really fast-paced. I also loved the twist in this story. Overall, it was extremely cute and I loved it.

This one was a little bit confusing for me. I think that fantasy short stories are not that well done because we need the world building to understand what’s happening and that doesn’t happen in a short story. I think I would probably like this one more if it was a full length novel. Also, this was the first time I read anything written by Laini Taylor and I really liked the writing style. I just think that this story needed a lot more pages for me to understand it and connect with it.

Overall I really enjoyed this collection of short stories. I already knew that I wouldn’t like every single story but I enjoyed most of them. For me this is a perfect Christmas read and I plan on re-reading some of these stories in the next years.
This is all I have to say in this mini-reviews. Have you read My True Love Gave to Me? If so what did you think about this short story? This also means that Blogmas is over and while it was a lot of work it was also a great thing to do. I hope you have enjoyed it 🙂 .
Oh, I wish I could have it, but it’s not my priority at the moment :p
Merry Christmas, Cátia!
