Today is thursday which means that is Book Traveling Thursdays, a weekly meme created by me and Danielle @ Danielle’s Book Blog. This weekly meme consists in picking a book related to the weekly theme that is announced in the group Goodreads page (if you want to join click here) at the beginning of each month. After that you can write a blog post where you explain why you choose that book and choose different covers from different countries. To make it a little bit easy you are going to choose different editions of the original cover, the cover from your country, your favorite cover, and your least favorite cover. This weeks theme is It’s Christmas Eve!! Choose a book that occurs in Christmas/Holiday season. For this one I decided to choose My True Love Gave to Me that was edited by Stephanie Perkins. As you might know I’ve been re-reading this book so I thought that this would be a great book to feature in Book Traveling Thursdays. Let’s go see some covers.
Original Covers:
This cover is not one of my favorites but I really like how it features every single couple from the book. If you’ve read this book a look really carefully to the couples you can find every single one of them and I really like it.
Cover from my Country (Portugal):
Unfortunately this book has yet to be released in Portugal so I don’t have a cover to show to you.
Favorite Covers:
I love these editions. They are just beautiful and I love the colors. It’s just cute and I would buy these editions if I could. They are gorgeous.
Least Favorite Covers:
It’s not that I think that these covers are ugly but I don’t like it as much as the previous ones. In the cover from France there’s something that I really don’t like but I can’t tell what. I just think that they tried to have a similar look to my favorite covers but there’s something there that is not working. My problem with the polish cover is that it has persons on it. It looks like that this book is a cute YA contemporary book about this boy and this girl but that’s not the case. In the 12 stories there’s a lot of variety. This book has a LGBT couple, persons of color. It even has elves and Krampus and that’s why I don’t like this cover for this book.
