T5W – Series I Want to Start Next Year

t5w new header

It’s that time of the week again when I bring you the Top 5 Wednesdays, created by gingerreadslainey. If you want to know how T5W works you can go to the Goodreads group by clicking here. This week theme is Series You Want to Start Next Year. Let’s see some of the series I really want to start in 2016 🙂 .

5. Precious Stone Trilogy –  Kerstin Gier

I’ve had the first two books of this trilogy for almost 2 years and I haven’t read any of them yet. I think that 2016 is a great year to finally start it.

4. The Raven Cycle – Maggie Stiefvater

A couple of years ago I read Shiver and while I enjoyed I decided that I didn’t like it enough to read the other books. However, everyone says that The Raven Cycle is way better and I really want to read it. It looks like a really good series. Also, the covers are gorgeous.

3. The Illuminae Files – Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff

Everyone says amazing things about this books and I really want to read it. It seems really interesting and different. Let’s see if I start this series in 2016.

2. The Grisha Trilogy and Six of Crows – Leigh Bardugo

I’m going to cheat a little bit with this one. I really want to start Six of Crows and I know that I don’t have to read The Grisha Trilogy before but I want to. I think my reading experience would be better if I already knew the world where the book is set and for that I need to read The Grisha Trilogy before. I hope that 2016 is the year where I finally read these books.

1.  The Dark Artifices – Cassandra Clare

Anyone surprised that the new Cassandra Clare book is in this list? Nope. This book is one of my most anticipated releases of 2016 and I can’t wait to finally start a new series in the Shadowhunter universe.

These are the Series I Want to Start Next Year. What about you? Which series would you include in your top?

  1. I still have to read Six of Crows too though I hope I’ll get to it still this year! I never knew it’s set in the same world as the Grisha trilogy 😀
Also, I think you will really enjoy the Precious Stone triogy! It’s very humorous and fun 🙂

    Great post, Cátia!

    • Thanks 🙂 . I think I’ll like the Precious Stone trilogy too but for some reason I have yet to pick it up. I think it’s because I have the portuguese editions and they decided to not publish the last book. If I read it I’ll have to buy the english edition of Emerald Green.
Six of Crows is in the same world of the Grisha Trilogy and I think I’ve heard that there’s a character cameo (I’m not sure) but you don’t have to read one to read the other 🙂

  2. Yay for practically identical reading lists! ❤ I actually just purchased the Raven Cycle and the Ruby Red Trilogy as my own Christmas gifts 0.o I can't wait to start them. Also, Illuminae is an amazing beast that gives all the feels and then rips your heart out in such a way that you enjoy it. I can't wait for the next one, or for more movie news XD Awesome list, by the way ; D

  3. You have some great picks here! I want to read the Precious Stone Trilogy, but it is pretty down on my TBR. I would like to at least read the first book in the series next year! If I don’t read Iluminae by the end of this year, I’m for sure reading it in January! Great list Sara! 😀 I also did a T5W this week on my blog here!

    Happy Holidays!
