Tess is burdened with a responsibility she’s not quite sure she can handle, and Ryan is determined to save her from it—if she ever stops pushing him away—in this sexy follow-up to Right Where You Are, the first new adult novel in the captivating Second Chances series.
Tess is a lot of things. Strong. Independent. Determined. Completely overwhelmed by the responsibilities of being her little brother’s caretaker. But she can handle it. She has to. Because there’s no way in hell she’s letting anyone else raise Noah.
Ryan’s happy with a life on cruise control. He has no intention of tying himself down. That road only leads to heartbreak, a lesson he learned the hard way when he was fifteen. So why can’t he stay away from the one woman who broke his heart?
Tess knows exactly why Ryan keeps popping up right when she needs the most help: He’s got a hero complex big enough to save Cinderella. But Tess isn’t that girl, and she refuses to let him be part of her life. Not even when Noah takes a liking to him. Not even when they kind of, maybe, hook up.
Not even when she starts to fall for him…
Review:
*I was provided an eARC by Pocket Star via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review
First of all let me tell you, this book has some mature content so if you’re too young or you don’t feel comfortable about that this is not for you.
As soon as I found out that this books was on NetGalley I knew I had to request it. I absolutely loved the first book so I knew that I wanted to read this one so I was quite happy when I receive the e-mail telling me that my request had been accepted. Now let me tell you, I think I loved this book even more than the first one. I loved it so much that I read it in one sitting. I really like the characters. I already knew Ryan because he is Seth best friend and he helped Seth in the first book so I knew I would love him. I also loved Tess and how she cared so much about her 3 year-old (almost 4 😀 ) brother, Noah. The thing that I really loved how Ryan and Tess still cared for each other after 7 years of being apart. Tess story life was just heart-breaking. She goes from someone who has mostly nothing (well she had Ryan) to someone who was everything to someone who has nothing again (she has Noah) and all mostly because of her father’s actions. The characters chemistry was great and, as much it hurts to say this, I liked their relationship more that Seth and Avery’s relationship. This book had everything. I loved the plot and how Tess was doing everything to keep Noah, I loved the characters (with the exception of her father) and I loved the ending. It was just too cute.
Overall, this was a great book. This is my second L. E. Bross book but I can already tell you that I plan to read more. If you’re looking for a new adult book to read you should give this one a try, but only after you read Right Where You Are.

Have you read this book? If so, what did you think about it? If you haven’t read it would you read it?
So, I just wrote my review this afternoon, and I said most of what you said!!! Yes, it might help that we were talking the whole time we were both reading it :P! I liked this one better too, and I liked their relationship more than Seth and Avery’s, the kid helped, but their history was just always palpable. I just wanted a lot more pages of it

I think that it did help that we were talking the all time 😛 . I would to read more pages of this, even more than the first book. And we both know how much I loved the first book

ehehe, told you :P. I think I’m still a tiny bit mad at Seth, I need another book with him to see him redeem himself

Me too. Why did he do that?? I understand that he wasn’t fond of Tess but did he have to that in front of Noah?

he was mad 😦 defending his bestie 😦 he didn’t think! So, I need them all together, maybe preparing for the wedding, or a double date, or a family day, whatever, I don’t care, I want both couples together and hitting it off

Yep, yep, yep. I want that. I don’t know how but L.E. Bross should make that happen

there isn’t any other book planned on this series 😦 which makes me sad, I would like more, I like her characters and her writing

i wouldn’t mind a book about Shari… 😉 that would at least be fun

Imagine Shari falling in love- It would be fun. One thing is for sure, she would be most experient from the couple

no doubt about that! I would like to know more about her, so far it has only been through Ave and Ryan, it would be nice to actually know her

That’s true. Maybe she’ll write another book. Are you sure that there is no book after this one?? I know that there’s nothing on GR but she could be working on that

nothing on her webpage either… she has a book coming out soon but it’s young adult and not from this series =/

On GR there’s also a new adult book coming out but it’s not part of the series too

🙂 did you realize that once again it is Ave’s father who saves the day?!
LikeLiked by 1 person
I did. In the beginning of Right Were you are I didn’t like him that much because of what he did but he keeps helping them

yep, and now he’s the mayor and everything. I would like to see Seth with Ave’s family though, that would be fun as hell

Especially if they did something that would get her mother furious (I’m pretty sure they don’t nned to do a lot 😛 )

the moving in together, officially, might do the trick 😀 they could have a house warming party 😀

Yep, yep. And Ryan, Tess and Noah would have to be there 😀

obviously! Noah would be nailing something, lol

If they needed to do renovations I’m sure that Ryan and Noah would help 😀

Noah would be so happy to do that. OMG, he’s so damn cute with Ryan. And Tess and Noah need to move in with Ryan right away, they need a bedroom…

Ryan doesn’t need to take care of his dad anymore and Tess already has plans on how she wants the house so that should happen pretty soon 😀

lol, god, they knew how they wanted the house since they were 14/15… 😀

omg, how is it possible that we’re still gushing about this book????? I wrote my review this afternoon in 5 minutes! lol. What are you reading now?
LikeLiked by 1 person
Right now nothing. I had to read the short story last night. I’ll be reading another tomorrow and today I’m not reading because I need to wake up at 5 am tomorrow 😦 . What about you? Are you in the bundle again?
LikeLiked by 1 person
5 am? GOOOODDDDD, whyyy??? Yeah, so I went for the last book of the bundle, and left More than Exes and More than music for tonight and tomorrow, and then I’m done with the bundle! Thank God, it has been a weird week of reading, the last story is kind of weird…

I have to get the train at 6.15am to go to Nazaré tomorrow morning. It’s going to be funny because normally I don’t post when I’m there and I’ll have to post this weekend because of Blogmas with the worst internet connection ever.
Another weird one??? I don’t know how you can finish a bundle in 1 week. I would take at least 3 weeks

Didn’t you scheduled the posts? Most of these books are so short, I think More than Music is the biggest one in the bundle. The last one is weird, kind of cool, but weird, they are both into BDSM… only, the guy has been abstinent… for 8 years, and he doesn’t stop being…

I normally write the post on the day and I couldn’t write sunday’s post because I have to read the short story. The next one is by Jenny Han 🙂 . Those books really look weird. I’m going to have fun with your reviews 😛

oh, Jenny Han I KNOW! 😀 Yeah, so what’s up with rockers always having to have huge hair? isn’t that kind of a metal thing? or an 80’s thing?
LikeLiked by 1 person
That was a thing in the 80s. Are they trying to bring the 80s back?? XD
LikeLiked by 1 person
I have no idea! A couple of the books I read, that featured British rock bands, the guys all have huge hair. I don’t know… I don’t find it hot =/

me neither but what can we do? Some people love that

hmmm, I don’t know… really long hair and leather pants doesn’t do it for me, no matter how awesome the abs are

I know. I have this huge thing for Jon Bon Jovi but every time I see his 80s videos I laugh because of his hair and clothes. Is just funny 😛
LikeLiked by 1 person
Yep, bom Jovi rocks, but jeans are always hotter than leather, and his 90’s hair is still the best 🙂

90s Bon Jovi is still my favorite. Also Bon Jovi from the beginning of 00s
