Today is thursday which means that is Book Traveling Thursdays, a weekly meme created by me and Danielle @ Danielle’s Book Blog. This weekly meme consists in picking a book related to the weekly theme that is announced in the group Goodreads page (if you want to join click here) at the beginning of each month. After that you can write a blog post where you explain why you choose that book and choose different covers from different countries. To make it a little bit easy you are going to choose different editions of the original cover, the cover from your country, your favorite cover, and your least favorite cover. This weeks theme is Tomorrow is World Kindness Day! Choose a book that has a kind character. I had to think a lot about this theme but I was able to choose a book with one kind character. Because of that of decided to choose Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell. If you’ve read this book you might know why I choose this book. Basically Levi is one of the kindest characters ever and I adore him. If you haven’t read this book, what are you waiting for? This book is just amazing. But let’s stop talking about how great this book is and let’s go see some covers.
Original Cover:
I love this cover. It’s beautiful and I love the color used. I also love that Cath, Levi, Simon and Baz are in the cover. What can I say about it? You can see by yourself how gorgeous this cover is.
Cover from my Country (Portugal):
This book was actually released about a month ago here and I love how that kept the essence of the original cover and the same colors.
Favorite Covers:
It’s not surprising that one of my favorite covers is the original one. I just think that is beautiful. The other two covers are some of the special edition books that were released. They might have changed the colors but I still loved them, especially the hot pink one 🙂 .
Least Favorite Covers:
I don’t know if you ever noticed this but most of the covers are similar to the original one. This makes a little difficult to find a cover that I don’t like. Because of that I had to choose these covers. I don’t think that they’re ugly but I don’t like them as much as the other ones. I don’t have anything to bad to say about these covers, something that is not normal on Book Traveling Thursdays.
So this is it, this week Book Traveling Thursdays. What did you think of these covers? Tell me in the comments 🙂 .
I think that the illustrators who worked with Fangirl should be given a raise, that’s a pretty varied selection and not one of them look hideous to the point of no return.

Actually the illustrator, Noelle Stevenson, is also a writer. She wrote and illustrated Nimona and Lumberjanes 🙂 . But I agree with you. None of them is hideous

I am going to buy Nimona right now😘

I really want to buy and read it but I can’t right now 😦 . But the illustrations have the same style as the Fangirl characters

I actually LOVE the cover from Thailand! Sadly I’ve never thought to read this book 😐 Maybe I should since EVERYONE loves it so much!

This is one of the rare occasions that I don’t hate any cover but I had to put some in my least favorites anyway 🙂 . You really should. This book is amazing

oh yeah, Levi was my second choice for this week, but I decided to reserve fangirl for another time 😀
I agree with everything, obviously, because the original cover, and the variations of that cover, are pure perfection!

It’s impossible to find one ugly cover for Fangirl because almost everyone uses the original. I hope I don’t need Fangirl for other occasion 😛

if i do, my post will be eerily similar to yours 😛

Probably. The only thing different is that you’ll probably add the spanish cover. But let’s be real, it will be just like the other covers XD

by the way, have you received the email with the extra scene yet?
LikeLiked by 1 person
I have. I was going to tell you on twitter but I forgot. I also read More than Exes last night and it also has an extra scene
LikeLiked by 1 person
you already read that? damn!! I got the email this afternoon and read it as soon as I got home – not suited for public reading… 😀 And I subscribed her list too.

I only had a few pages of the book I was reading last night so I decided to read More than Exes after 😛 .
More than Exes only has one scene not suited for public reading which is normal vecause it’s not a full novel

lol, what about the extra scene?

I received it this afternoon too but I still have to read it

obviously! there’s just one direction with those 2, right?

That’s true… But I think that that’s the only direction for all the characters from the series 😛

Is Rainbow Rowell a good author? I’ve heard a lot about her, but I’ve never picked up her books. Should I?

Totally. She’s amazing. I loved her books, especially Fangirl and Eleanor & Park. I also keep hearing amazing things about Carry On

Ah, she wrote Eleanor and Park! I didn’t realise – so I have read one of her books, and loved it!

Levi is the cutest! ❤ (and so is the original cover!) I more or less agree with you on all your choices, except that I don't like the hot pink cover. It's somewhat repelling and doesn't remind me of the book. And I actually think the Indonesian cover is pretty cute, although it reminds me of some middle grade book…

He surely is 🙂

Oh, never mind, I see it got posted anyway. Sorry about that. 😛

Ugghh my pc’s acting weird, so I don’t know whether that got posted properly. Let’s do it again:

I did like the Indonesian cover but this is a rare occasion where I don’t think that any cover is ugly. I just had to add some to the least facorite. I like the hot pink cover mainly because I like pink 😛
LikeLiked by 1 person
Yeah, true that. Although if you asked me, the hot pink one is the only one I’d put up for my least favourite category. 😛 I actually like pink too (it’s my third favourite colour), but I dunno, this one just doesn’t click.

I really love how most of the publishers decided to keep Noelle Stevenson’s art on the covers – it’s really cute! 🙂 But I do find it strange that, considering that they made Levi look up at Cath on the yellow cover, they would have him staring at her feel on the pink one… ❓

Her art is so cool that they had to keep it 🙂 … He’s looking at her in almost all covees except that one. They should have used the illustration where he’s looking up
