Right Where You Are by L.E. Bross – eARC Review

Right Where You ArePublication Date:

November 16th 2015

Publisher:

Pocket Star

Goodreads Synopsis:

Avery Melrose is used to having it all. So when her boyfriend cheats on her, she reacts like any spoiled rich girl-she freaks out and vandalizes his new truck, Carrie Underwood style. Now she’s stuck with 300 hours of community service doing road-side garbage duty.

Seth Hunter just got out of prison, and after a few hundred hours picking up litter on the side of the highway, he can finally put his mistakes behind him. If he can string together some kind of existence, maybe it’ll be enough to get his sister away from their stepfather, the man who sent Seth to prison in the first place.

A romance between these two is doomed from the start. Girls like Avery want castles and white horses, and Seth is no prince charming.

But sometimes, being around Avery makes Seth think he could make something of himself. Maybe even be worthy of a girl like her. It’s just too bad real life gets in the way first, tearing these two apart before they have any chance of getting to Happily Ever After.

Review:

*I was provided an eARC by Pocket Star via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review

First of all let me tell you, this book has some mature content so if you’re too young or you don’t feel comfortable about that this is not for you. If you haven’t noticed I’ve been in a huge contemporary mood so when I saw this book on NetGalley and read the blurb I knew that I wanted to read it.
The story starts when Avery, one of the main characters, is sentenced to community service for vandalizing her ex-boyfriend of 4 years new car after she caught him cheating. In community service she meets Seth who is fresh out of prison where he spend 1 year after trying to protect his sister. I loved their chemistry and how they «hated» each other in the beginning because of something that happened. I really loved this characters. Avery his a rich girl who actually cares about other people but that has other people making the important choices in her life. Seth has had a really difficult life but he still cares a lot about the people around him. I loved both characters, especially Seth. It was amazing to see their relationship through the book and how they changed and develop because of the presence of each other in their life. There were some decisions that they made that I didn’t like but I understand where that come from. Something that I didn’t like was how easily Avery forgave what her ex did to her. Yes he had an explanation but it wasn’t that good. I really didn’t like Avery’s parents and how they wanted to take all of her decisions. Her mother even decided what she should wear in events and that’s just stupid.
Overall, this was surprisingly a really good book and I want to read the next one that is about Seth best friend, Ryan. Not only that but I really want to read more books written by L. E. Bross. If you love new adult contemporary and have no problems with mature content you should definitely check this book because it’s really enjoyable.
