Book Cover Guessing Challenge

book cover guessing challenge

Hi guys! Today I decided to bring you the Book Cover Guessing Challenge that was created by  Trey Schnarr Books. I was tagged by Alextheshadowgirl and by Dimple Malhotra @ enthrallingdimple. This looks like fun so why not do it when I was tagged right? As you may have figure out this challenge is to try to find out what the book is about only by looking to the cover and without reading the blurb. It was hard to choose the books for this because I like to read book blurbs and I had to look a lot on Goodreads to find a few that I had no idea what they were about. Let’s start this.

1. My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick

my life next door

This looks like a cute contemporary book. I would say that a boy moves next to the girl and they fall in love. Probably one of them has a secret and they can’t be together.

Goodreads Blurb:

The Garretts are everything the Reeds are not. Loud, messy, affectionate. And every day from her rooftop perch, Samantha Reed wishes she was one of them . . . until one summer evening, Jase Garrett climbs up next to her and changes everything.

As the two fall fiercely for each other, stumbling through the awkwardness and awesomeness of first love, Jase’s family embraces Samantha – even as she keeps him a secret from her own. Then something unthinkable happens, and the bottom drops out of Samantha’s world. She’s suddenly faced with an impossible decision. Which perfect family will save her? Or is it time she saved herself?

A transporting debut about family, friendship, first romance, and how to be true to one person you love without betraying another.

Ok. The boy already lived next door but there’s a secret so I got that one right 😛 .

2. Half-Blood by Jennifer L. Armentrout

half-blood

I think that this one is about a girl who finds out that she is half something (maybe Half-angel or half-god). She then falls in love with a guy that is full something. This also looks like that she’s also the “Chosen One”.

Goodreads Blurb:

The Hematoi descend from the unions of gods and mortals, and the children of two Hematoi pure bloods have godlike powers. Children of Hematoi and mortals–well, not so much. Half-bloods only have two options: become trained Sentinels who hunt and kill daimons or become servants in the homes of the pures. Seventeen-year-old Alexandria would rather risk her life fighting than waste it scrubbing toilets, but she may end up slumming it anyway. There are several rules that students at the Covenant must follow. Alex has problems with them all, but especially rule #1:Relationships between pures and halfs are forbidden. Unfortunately, she’s crushing hard on the totally hot pure-blood Aiden. But falling for Aiden isn’t her biggest problem–staying alive long enough to graduate the Covenant and become a Sentinel is. If she fails in her duty, she faces a future worse than death or slavery: being turned into a daimon, and being hunted by Aiden. And that would kind of suck.

Well she already knows that she’s a half-god. But she falls in love with a pure-blood which means that I was right in something.

3. Seraphina by Rachel Hartman

seraphinaThis one looks like a historical fiction book that involves dragons. Maybe it’s one of that books where the villagers need to sacrifice a young girl and the main character is the one choosen for this.

Goodreads Blurb:

In her New York Times bestselling and Morris Award-winning debut, Rachel Hartman introduces mathematical dragons in an alternative-medieval world to fantasy and science-fiction readers of all ages. Eragon-author Christopher Paolini calls them, “Some of the most interesting dragons I’ve read in fantasy.”

Four decades of peace have done little to ease the mistrust between humans and dragons in the kingdom of Goredd. Folding themselves into human shape, dragons attend court as ambassadors, and lend their rational, mathematical minds to universities as scholars and teachers. As the treaty’s anniversary draws near, however, tensions are high.

Seraphina Dombegh has reason to fear both sides. An unusually gifted musician, she joins the court just as a member of the royal family is murdered—in suspiciously draconian fashion. Seraphina is drawn into the investigation, partnering with the captain of the Queen’s Guard, the dangerously perceptive Prince Lucian Kiggs. While they begin to uncover hints of a sinister plot to destroy the peace, Seraphina struggles to protect her own secret, the secret behind her musical gift, one so terrible that its discovery could mean her very life.

This is not what I thought that this book was about. But it has dragons so I wasn’t wrong in everything 😀 .

4. Burn for Burn by Jenny Han and Siobhan Vivian

burn for burnI don’t know but this one looks like it’s about a group of friends and two of them for some reason stop being friends and start hating each other. Maybe this happens because of a guy.

Goodreads Blurb:

Postcard-perfect Jar Island is home to charming tourist shops, pristine beaches, amazing oceanfront homes—and three girls secretly plotting revenge.

KAT is sick and tired of being bullied by her former best friend.

LILLIA has always looked out for her little sister, so when she discovers that one of her guy friends has been secretly hooking up with her, she’s going to put a stop to it.

MARY is perpetually haunted by a traumatic event from years past, and the boy who’s responsible has yet to get what’s coming to him.

None of the girls can act on their revenge fantasies alone without being suspected. But together…anything is possible.

With an alliance in place, there will be no more “I wish I’d said…” or “If I could go back and do things differently…” These girls will show Jar Island that revenge is a dish best enjoyed together.

I really got this one right. It’s about a former group of friends and there’s a guy involved 🙂 .

5. Second Chance Summer by Morgan Matson

second chance summerI would say that this one is about a boy and a girl. Maybe they dated before but broke up and haven’t seen each other for a few months. Then they met each other again and understand that they still have feelings for each other. However, like almost every contemporary book maybe something happens and they can’t be together?

Goodreads Blurb:

Taylor Edwards’ family might not be the closest-knit—everyone is a little too busy and overscheduled—but for the most part, they get along just fine. Then Taylor’s dad gets devastating news, and her parents decide that the family will spend one last summer all together at their old lake house in the Pocono Mountains.

Crammed into a place much smaller and more rustic than they are used to, they begin to get to know each other again. And Taylor discovers that the people she thought she had left behind haven’t actually gone anywhere. Her former best friend is still around, as is her first boyfriend…and he’s much cuter at seventeen than he was at twelve.

As the summer progresses and the Edwards become more of a family, they’re more aware than ever that they’re battling a ticking clock. Sometimes, though, there is just enough time to get a second chance—with family, with friends, and with love.

There is an ex-boyfriend!! I got something right again so I’m happy 😀 !

I wasn’t as bad as I thought that I would be. I was able to at least find one thing right for each book so let’s just say that I’m happy with the results. Once again I’m not tagging anyone because I think that a lot of people were already tagged for this but if you haven’t been tagged and want to just tell me in the comments and I’ll do it 🙂 .
