Book Covers Around the World #6

Today I bring you again Book Covers Around the World. Since the movie Paper Towns is going to be released in the coming weeks I decided that today we will be seeing the different covers of the book. Also, if you want to leave some suggestions of which book should go next just tell me in the comments. So let’s start it.

paper towns USUK

What do I have to say about these covers? I don’t like faces in covers which means that I don’t like 3 of these covers. The others ones, I actually like and they are related to the plot. The only exceptions is the yellow cover. It’s too yellow.

papertowns portugal

I have to say that normally I don’t like the portuguese book covers but this is an exception. I like how it has «paper towns». My only problem with this cover is that it is too dark. I would like a little bit more color.

papertowns spain

I like the first cover. It has the «paper towns» and it is colorful but the second one…. too yellow again. But I actually like that it has as town in the cover.

papertowns italy

I don’t like this cover at all. They could have done a lot of things but decided to have a coffee sign in the cover?? Why?? I don’t like it at all.

papertowns france

Once again, I don’t like this cover. It’s even worse than the italian. Why put a traffic sign on the cover? It’s weird.

BO - Aan de bal 3e

Is there a memo anywhere where they decided that the cover would be yellow??? Why? I don’t like it. It’s cool that they have a similar look to the original cover but it’s not that good.

papertowns hungary

The hungarian cover is not that bad. I like the design but I don’t like the color (Are you noticing something common in all the covers that I don’t like??). This cover would be better with other colors.

papertowns poland

This looks like a comic book, or something similar, cover. I think it’s a weird cover for this book.

papertowns russia

I don’t want to be mean but these covers are terrible. I don’t understand these covers, especially the first one. They could have done much better.

papertowns indonesia

I love this cover. I like the design and the font used. The only thing that I would change would be the color. I would try to do a more colorful cover.

papertowns malasya

I don’t like this cover at all. It has nothing to do with the book and it’s weird but at least is not the worst one.

What did you think? Which one is your favourite? Don’t forget, if you want to see the different covers for one particular book tell me in the comments. It could be the next one.

  1. completely agree! most of the covers dont go at all with the story… and the ones with the faces on… sometimes i wonder what these designers are thinking? Most of the time i think they just take the title and come up with the first thing that pops into their head.

  2. OMG this is such a cool idea for blog posts! You should make this a tag or something where each week you make a category and everyone can choose a book that fits in the category and writes a post about all the different book covers!

  3. That is not the paper towns cover I see in stores (the Netherlands) also, yeah, Holland is horrible at covers! And translating books if we get to the point where Holland sucks

    I love this idea tho!
